Founded in Perth, Australia in 2021, Sereniti Matcha began as Hamoni Homewares, a Japanese homeware store dedicated to sharing the timeless craftsmanship of Japanese artisans. During our journeys to Japan, we met local makers in tea regions such as Uji, Shizuoka, Nishio and Kagoshima, witnessing firsthand the creation of handcrafted chawans and chasens. The devotion, precision and beauty in these traditions inspired us to bring authentic Japanese matcha to Australia, and thus Sereniti Matcha was born.

Our name, Sereniti, comes from the word serenity, a reflection of what we hope you feel with every cup — calm, presence and a peaceful pause in your day. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi sabi, we find beauty in simplicity, natural imperfection and mindful craftsmanship.

We source our matcha directly from Japan, working with growers who honour traditional cultivation and stone milling techniques passed down through generations. Each region and cultivar expresses Japan’s terroir through unique layers of flavour, aroma and colour.
